Field Hockey Blanks Duke, 5-0, In Home Opener
Norfolk, Va. (Sept. 9) - The Old Dominion field hockey team posted its first shutout victory, 5-0 over Duke on Sept. 9 at Foreman Field on the campus of Old Dominion University. The Lady Monarchs improve to 3-1 overall while the Blue Devils have yet to win their first game at 0-4 overall. Old Dominion was powered by a three-goal, one-assist effort from senior midfielder Marina DiGiacomo (Mendoza, Argentina). The Honda Award hopeful netted the game's first two goals, assisted on the third, and found the back of the net one more time.
